Expert Python Programming Book : typo sprint tonight !

I love Packt. As soon as I have told them that some people liked the book but complained about the typos, they proposed to go ahead and launch a new print cycle.

Basically it means that the next buyers will have a typo-free book. At least for all the typos that were reported on my Trac here, or at Packt’s.

I am currently processing all the typos reported at Packt so I have a full list on my wiki, and will provide them the final list tomorrow.

Then, they will re-print it.

So if you already own the book, and you see a typo that is not listed, please let me know.

  1. Like I have said before, I really do like the book aside from the typos so I am really, really happy to hear this news. I’ll be making my contributions to your errata page.

    Is there a deadline to get these in?

    After this, I will definitely be 1) re-reviewing the book and 2) suggesting to many, many budding developers I know and tutor.

    @Calvin, cool !

    Unfortunately there is a very very short deadline, the editor team contacted me and asked me to finish that list for tomorrow and I blogged about it right after. So I am “sprinting” right now on this, trying to get the maximum typos out of the book.

    Of course, since it will probably be printed again later on the road, the typos that will not be included in this round will be fixed at some point.

    Thanks for you time and feedback.

  3. That is a bit a shame. I know there is a lot of immediate love for this book and that a lot of people would put some extra effort into helping, myself included. But, it is a holiday here in the states and there simply isn’t the time.

    I’ll try to ask them to postpone it then …

  5. Col says:

    What if you bought the e-book, can you download an updated version ?

    I was about to ask the same question. I bought the eBook, but would love the chance to have it updated to reflect the fixes.

    @Col, mOjO: very good question, that would make sense. I am goign to ask the editor about that.
